Transfer a domain to PlatiniumHost

What is a domain transfer?

Transferring a domain means moving its management from one registrar (e.g., GoDaddy) to another (PlatiniumHost). The domain remains yours, and your site is not interrupted during the process.

Requirements before transferring

  • The domain must be more than 60 days old since its registration
  • The domain must not have been transferred in the last 60 days
  • The domain must not be locked (it must be unlocked)
  • You must have the EPP/Auth Code authorization code

Step 1 — Obtain the EPP code

Access your current registrar's control panel and look for the option to obtain the EPP code, Auth Code, or Authorization Code. It is usually in the domain management section.

Step 2 — Unlock the domain

In the same panel, ensure that the domain does not have Transfer Lock activated. Deactivate it if necessary.

Step 3 — Initiate the transfer with PlatiniumHost

  1. Go to the PlatiniumHost client area
  2. Look for the option "Transfer domain"
  3. Type your domain and click search
  4. Enter the EPP code when prompted
  5. Complete the payment (the transfer includes 1 additional year of registration)

Step 4 — Confirm the transfer

You will receive an email at the domain registrant's email address asking to confirm the transfer. Click on the confirmation link.

⏱ Time: Transfers for .com, .net, and .org domains take between 5 and 7 business days. .ve domains may take longer.
✅ Transfer complete. Your domain is now managed by PlatiniumHost along with your hosting.
